“Make It Smart” is the theme of  this year’s Build Boston conference and trade show at the Seaport World Trade Center, November 16-18, 2011.  You still have time to register!

From their promo:

One of the most pressing challenges facing us in designing the built environment is to go beyond narrow functionalism — to make buildings that are enduring, lovable, energy effective and adaptable for the very long haul.

This year there will be a hands on charrette  with BSA’s Housing Committee and Enterprise Community Partners envisioning the design outcomes for an active affordable housing project.  Four teams, each led by Boston area housing professionals will develop options for an affordable housing project plan for Union Square in Sommerville.

Ann – I could definitely go to this. Do you think its worth it / cool? Probably some folks from school will be there, too…

Rebecca — this is probably a very informative “trade show” esp. the design charette piece they are adding this year. Given your goals you would likely benefit from attending. However, it’s not something Cohousing Collaborative could underwrite. Best — Ann Z.
